Narnia, Chapter XIV

Beauty and the Chronicles of Narnia, the Other

Chapter XIV

*Snowflower’s Soliloquy*

And so, in the not too distant future, it happened that they all left this home, their Narnia, to continue the journey in other, very different places.

My earnest wish for you readers is that you have been not only entertained by these stories, but that you have also have gained knowledge and understanding of a lifestyle that happened long ago, and how it intimately shaped the lives of all four of the individuals involved. In many ways it is a simple story of daily life once lived in particularly unique circumstances. All of these particular characters have gone on to lead interesting and useful lives, meaningful lives. With this background pallet a base from which to draw, they used it as a stepping stone, an entrance into a much more complicated and diverse world. By all accounts, they have all succeeded. And succeeded well. If you were to check in with them today, I think you would find contentment, health, and well-being all around.

It has been my privilege to narrate these stories and personal observations. We of the fairy kingdom are not totally immune from the trials and tribulations that humans go through, and I, for one, feel much personal growth as well. I give thanks for this and much appreciation to the grown-ups, the children, the dog, the cat, and all the woodland creatures for everything they have contributed to the telling.

I will continue to monitor these lovely people, guiding them when applicable, speaking softly into their ears, sending pangs of love into their hearts, and hopefully helping them continue to navigate the many twists and turns inherent in living in this world of physicality. With all of the challenges and divisiveness, pain and suffering which people in the world are forced to endure, may these individuals continue to do their best, as they see and are able, to bring gentleness, kindness, understanding, and love to all they meet. And may their own children gain more forgiveness for any unintended but inevitable failings they might encounter from their parents and grandparents, knowing that each and every one is doing the best they can in the moment. For they are also inheriting the strengths of their heritage, developed through the eons of people “doing the best that they can,” and thriving in spite of all the challenges.

So, goodbye for now, and don’t let it be forgotten, that once there was a place, for one brief shining moment, that was known as Narnia, the Other.

There will never be another.

*****The End*****

******************************************************************************

This book is dedicated to Amane Mirabai Ursula Goto-Webb, as she was its inspiration…

And to Deniz Sierra Webb, as both these young girls now know much more about their parent’s upbringing than most of their contemporaries.

May everything written here inspire them to carry on in love, faith, and harmony, confident and with courage, to do their best to find their own unique place in the world, and to make the world a better place than many are currently finding it.

Hope lasts eternal within the human heart. As does love.
